1984
Architecture Student Paul Britten enters a General Motors banner contest in Detroit to win World Series tickets. The hand-painted banner wins the tickets, an audience with GM Chairman Roger Smith and a job for 40’ x 100’ banner that would hang on GM World HQ.
1985
Britten Inc., a custom sign and banner shop opens in Washington, D.C.
1993
Britten Inc. relocates to Traverse City, Michigan, the owner’s hometown.
1996
Britten purchases one of the first ever solvent inkjet printers.
2002
Britten acquires worldwide patent for the BannerSaver. This product immediately becomes a must-have in the United States and Europe.
2003
The acquisition of United States T-Shirt Company (UST) expands Britten’s branding power into the apparel world.
2004
MasterTent is brought into the Britten product family and TentCraft is born.
2009
Ace-Hi Worldwide – one of the most advanced screen printers in the world – is acquired, solidifying Britten’s commitment to high volume, large format POP.
2013
Britten MetalWorks is created to offer clients full-service metal manufacturing and custom hardware capabilities.
2014
Gemba Marketing is formed.
